Business Visa

 

Documents Particulars
Passports * Original Passport with at least 6 months validity and at least 2 blank pages.
* Good quality scanned copy of the page with photo and address page – both on one side of an A4 sheet
* Original old passport booklets if any
Photographs *One colour photograph 3.5 x 4.5 cm with light-coloured background
* The applicant should be directly facing the camera, without dark/ tinted glasses or any headgear (with the exception of persons who wear such headgear due to their ethnic/ religious background and are seen wearing the same in their passport photo).
Covering Letter * A covering letter per individual / family/ company addressed to The Visa Officer, Consulate General of Russia,  Chennai.
* The Covering Letter should brief the profile of the applicants and the purpose of travel with travel dates
* Covering Letter can be on a plain paper for individuals and on the company letterhead for officials / sponsored applicants
Purpose of Travel / Accommodation * Invitation for the entry to the Russian Federation issued by the Federal Migration Service of the Russian Federation (original + copy) OR
* Visa directive sent by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation; Or
*A request from the host organization on an official letterhead ("direct invitation"), which must contain the following information:

for the invited person - name, surname, date of birth, gender, citizenship, number and type of identity document, dates and purpose of the trip, number of entries, names and dates of birth of minor children traveling with the invited person

for the inviting organization - the full name of this organization and its legal and actual addresses; name, surname and position of the authorized person who signed the invitation along with their contact number.

* If travel is more than 14 day’s then day to day itinerary is required.
* Hotel vouchers (if applicable)

Transit Visa

Common Single Entry Transit Visa is issued to Indian citizens, citizens of other countries and stateless persons for the purpose of transit travel through the territory of the Russian Federation. It can be issued for a period of up to 10 days (in case of travel by railway or car) or 3 days (in case of travel by air), on the basis of confirmed tickets and a valid visa/ passport of the final destination country or of the neighbouring country en route.

The validity period of double entry transit visa cannot be more than one month. In cases when the foreign citizen needs to travel through the territory of the Russian Federation to the country of destination, and then again return through the territory of Russia, and the time between the trips exceeds one month, a single entry transit visa should be issued, and the second visa should be applied for in the Russian diplomatic mission in the country of destination.

TRANSIT VISA IS NOT REQUIRED: - In case of a continuous flight over the territory of the Russian Federation - In case of change of flights, provided that the passenger remains within the airport transit zone and stopover time does not exceed 24 hours.

Purpose of Travel / Accommodation * Tourist confirmation letter (fax or scanned copy can be submitted) stating that the tourist is going to be hosted by a Russian Organization which is authorized to carry out tour operator activities and is registered in the Unified Federal Register of Tour Operators under a unique reference number. It should contain all vital data of the tourist (full name, date of birth, sex, nationality and passport number), duration of stay (date of entry and exit), number of entries granted by the visa, full title of the Russian tour operator issuing the invitation, its unique reference number (MVT) and the list of paid tourist services (transport, accommodation, excursions, etc.), personal signature of the head of the tour agency together with the organization’s official seal. The confirmation must be in Russian language and must show the Agency's Reference Number and Registration Number.
* Any proof of your accommodation/ purpose at the destination/ Booking Certificate and payment receipts from the tour operator.

Purpose of Travel / Accommodation *Seaman's Employment Contract ( original + copy) containing the name of the vessel on board which the applicant intends to depart from Russia, comprehensive data of the applicant and the validity period of the contract. The contract must be signed by the applicant and the owner of the vessel.
* Seaman’s Book (CDC) (+ copy).
* Guarantee letter from the Russian shipping agent. 
*Seaman’s employment verification letter from the Indian shipping company 
* Original air tickets (in urgent cases)

Purpose of Travel / Accommodation *An Invitation (in original) obtained by relatives or friends in Russia from the Regional Office of the Ministry of Home Affairs of the Russian Federation. The period of stay in Russia must be mentioned in the Invitation and must not exceed 90 days.
